A 2+2 days (combined: 3 days) DNV training course for shipboard and shore based application:
This course consists of two modules:

Incident Analysis (2 days) and Practical Risk Assessment (2 days).The first step in the process of Managing Risk is Risk Assessment. Instead of reacting on incidents, risk should be identified and analysed in order to evaluate if the existing safeguards are adequate. Risk Assessment is the solid basis on which the safeguards should be built. The
requirement to practise Risk Assessment on a regular basis is becoming a standard in the oil industry. Reference is made to the recent OCIMF initiative to launch the Tanker Management Self Assessment program. In this program Risk Assessment will play a vital role (e.g. in “identification of Critical equipment by means of Risk Assessment”). Apart from this, OCIMF recommends formal training in Incident investigation and analysis. This course offers a practical approach towards Risk Assessment and Incident Investigation and Analysis in the marine environment. One of the causes for most of the incidents is that previous incidents were not sufficiently analysed, resulting in symptom fighting alone.
