 Comply with EU and Californian low-sulphur regulations – DIESELswitch
CARB has since July 1st 2009 required the use of ultra-low sulphur fuels (MDO/MGO) in Californian waters and similar regulations will be introduced in European harbors January 1st 2010.
The changeover from preheated HFO to MDO/MGO represents a risk of fuel pump sticking or seizure due to very small clearances in the fuel pump. The DIESELswitch, a retrofit product from MAN Diesel, can perform the changeover automatically removing possible safety hazards.
